Walking Doon da Abandoned Road

Cloudy first thing, but turned into a beautiful sunny day, with mostly clear skies tonight.  Breezy this morning, but calmed.

A day's holiday, up early and headed north to Unst.  First stop was to check bro Jonny's house, and then on to sister Julie's, where I was helping on the croft.  We had a fine walk after, before catching the ferries home.  More walkies with Sammy this evening, and now feet up.  There was still snow on the hills in Unst, and the old folk said that's a sign of more to come.

It was great to catchup with sis Jules, and the lasses today, first time since December.  They had both grown a bit too.  Just like the rest of us, they are tired of this pandemic, and missing so much from not being at school with friends.  As we came over the hill, we were faced with the old abandoned road.  Part of the road collapsed, and slid down the cliff, about 20 years ago, and a new route put in place.  As you can see, it's not for driving on!  Julie, Lottie and Anna, on the old Norwick to Skaw road, Unst.
