Apollo

I don’t know that this artwork in the cafe “Deco” in Titirangi is a depiction of Apollo. However, it makes me think of Apollo driving his chariot to pull the sun into the sky every day. 

Apollo, as well as being the god of sun and light, is also the god of music and poetry, healing and plagues, prophecy and knowledge, order and beauty. He was the Olympian personification of harmony, reason and moderation. 

Without succumbing to hubris, it seems that one could do well by trying to emulate Apollo.
