Loch Tay
must have some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland UK. It is one of my most favourite places to visit. I imagine anyone who has visited this area would have difficulty forgetting the beauty of the countryside and the loch itself. MOH and I went for a wee jaunt and have decided to return over the weekend for luch in the Kenmore Hotel - always a good spot to sit in and watch the salmon fishermen on the River Tay.
Loch Tay is a long narrow loch of around 14 miles long, and 1½ miles wide. It is the sixth largest loch in Scotland by area and over 490 ft deep at its deepest.
In the Iron Age people lived on defensible, man-made islands on the loch, called Crannogs. More than 20 submerged crannogs have been identified in the loch.
The loch was very calm today and I loved this reflection. Can you see where the land stops and the loch starts?
