PS Waverley
A much needed change of walk today ..... no park, no mud, no cows just the wonderful River Clyde.
L and I walked part of the Clyde walkway from the Clyde Arc along Pacific Quay to the Science Centre where the Waverley is moored.
The Waverley is the last seagoing passenger carrying paddle steamer in the world. Built in 1946, she sailed until 1973 from Craigendorran on the Firth of Clyde to Arrochar on Loch Long.
Excursions in 2021 will only happen if sufficient donations have been made to safeguard the future of this great steamer ..... the impact of Covid has resulted in a lack of vital funds to meet the cost of routine winter maintenance.
