Mustard Field

It is a sure sign that spring is coming when the mustard blooms. It is planted between the vineyard rows as a cover crop. It wasn't until I put this picture up on the computer that I realized someone was photobombing  my picture as I tried to snap it from the moving car. I guess I can't really accuse her of photobombing since she was there first! There is almost always someone with a camera in the mustard fields when they are blooming....

We had a field trip to Sonoma today to buy some outdoor furniture to replace the stuff that got burned. We also solved our shade dilemma. We thought we would build a pergola out of metal and even found a few pictures of ones we liked, but they just didn't seem quite right. As often happens, as soon as we put the whole project on hold, we found a technologically marvelous 8foot square umbrella which spins and tilts in all directions. We could even have gotten it with lights and a heater, but decided to pass on those amenities. We can always string fairy lights for a lot less money.

We still have to wait for it to arrive, but apparently it comes from Florida and not Asia so we might not have to wait until next winter to get it.
