Bah Humboldt

The Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Research on Biological Resources is responsible for carrying out scientific research on biodiversity in Colombia. Their main office*, in Villa de Leyva, is also home to a large collection of specimens.

* I'm using the word office in a loose sense here - not only is it an office with cupboards full of hummingbird specimens and egg collections, but it is situated in an ancient building that has, at various times, been a convent, a factory and almost a ruin.
