Time for Teacakes
A sail with McC the younger was the order of the day and he duly arrived with tucker at 10:30. But very little wind. Though crucially, enough for the cruising chute. So we quickly (ahem) rigged it up and just outside the harbour mouth hoisted it aloft. And then proceeded to blow towards Kinghorn where the FB page Forth Marine Mammals had described the morning’s travels of the whale. Unfortunately thar she didn’t blow. It was off round to Kirkcaldy someplace, safe from us whaler lads.
Still, we had teacakes, and later, pies. With a side of potato crisps. And much chat. From cavorting in a t-shirt before setting sail, I was soon in salopettes and boots and a hat; the air is definitely not that warm.
Later a film, her choice: Red Dot. A nasty little Swedish film of city folk heading into the wilds for the weekend where of course, they’ll be hunted down to be tortured and killed by racists. If this was a parable, the meaning is clearly, #stayHome.
