A most lovely day in the sun, some of it spent cleaning the inside of the boat. Some of it sitting with the son, in the sun, after he arrived from along the coast. Good to hear his news face to face rather than over WhatsApp. Not an easy environment out there for young people once your employment evaporates and the gym closes. But he’s not entirely downcast, and is considering getting a hamster for company. I’m not sure they’re the most empathetic of pets, though they are quite cute. And cheap. 
Much later, after a veggie* curry and a bit of TV I did a bit of googling. It’s amazing how much Google prompts you after you type in the first two words of a question. How quickly … does hair grow? … do you fart after eating beans?  … do you fart? … do farts form? …do farts travel? How long do farts linger? How long do farts stay in the air? How fast do farts come out? The one though that you really want to know, I know, is how long would a fart last in an air-tight container? (There are 15 answers) 


* a tiny bit of chicken was included, ahem.
