A little sunshine...

... Always helps.

(Unless you need the windows cleaned, in which case it just highlights, for all and sundry, the fog through which you are apparently choosing to see the World. Surely a March chore, the windows? What? It's March already? Bring me a mop and a bucket).

I wish I had identified the tree from which the above image is taken. Every year, since we moved here, I have snapped the same image and every year think, 'I must identify that'. I can do the 'easy' ones; the ones learned from school, but some trees (I find) are trickier. There's a long shelf here of Tree Identifying Books (I might be exaggerating) and apps are so clever these days all you need to do is locate yourself within roughly the same County as a tree, and waft your device around, for it to pick up the scent of the insect eggs it contains and bingo... Tree's ancestry and DNA sorted. Allegedly. In practice, I have found, it's not quite so clear cut.
We have a tree in the garden, for instance, which might or might not be a Wych Elm.
Still, they're all lovely and our friends aren't they?

(Aren't curtains expensive?).
