I've always loved art but have been a terrible artist... When Erica said she'd like to teach a few of us about block printing, though, I thought I'd give it a go.. As it turns out, block printing does not necessitate good drawing skills, phew!

Erica has the most beautiful patterns from India, Nepal, India, and Turkey. The block prints are sort of like stamps that you dip into paint, press onto fabric or paper and then paint into.

When you're using the blocks, you have to think about what position you want the image to be in before you press down; a bit of planning and a lot of patience makes this art form something that did me well...
