Where Artistic Expression is Welcomed

Mount Wood Overlook: A Community Treasure. While driving through Wheeling, WV today, we noticed this unique property. It appears to be the foundation of a castle-like structure, mysteriously left unfinished. Folks have used every inch of this 2 story abandoned “building” to express themselves through graffiti. It is impossible to capture but a tiny area of their work in one photo. We got a good view of Wheeling and the Ohio River from this vantage point also.
The temps started out in the low 20s early this morning. I was up at 6:30 am to get a picture of the sunrise for my blip. Thought my fingers would freeze trying to get a beautiful shot. We hadn’t decided to go to town at that point. But the bright sun encouraged a ride to grab a few items while they were still on sale. We had a delicious salad and cod lunch, finished shopping and headed home, content with our day. My sister prepared a nice appetizer platter which was more than enough dinner.
