The 'not so young' ornithologist

Well, after installing my new bird feeding station in the garden yesterday it's never been such a busy garden wildlife wise.

I've had a lazy morning in bed from where I can see said bird feeding station and it's been like Piccadilly Circus out there.
I've seen a load of the usual garden birds - sparrows, robins, pigeons, blackbirds, various tits, a cheeky squirrel!

Took a load of pics out of the bedroom window. Have been up and down like a yoyo. There were some lovely ones of Mr Squirrel sitting on the lawn eating peanuts that had dropped but I though this little baby won my sunday blip prize.

There were two of them. One sat on the wall and this one was tucking into seed in the tray like his life depended on it. Scattering it left, right and centre.
I didn't know what kind he was not being an expert, I thought possibly a wood pigeon but after googling it I believe he is a ringed dove.
Not sure if ringed doves are common or not but I certainly can't remember seeing one before. Mind you until recently (since Blip) I probably wouldn't have noticed anyway.

Well it's 14:30 so I guess i'd better get my sorry ass out of bed. Haven't stayed in bed like this for many years.
Have got a few loads of washing still to do, supermarket shopping, dog walking, house cleaning etc - Oh the joys of a sunday!

Nevermind, 4 weeks today and i'll be on my holidays - hoorah !!!!
