Diary of an Edinburgher

Birthday Boy!

Thank you for all your good wishes and kind words on my Big Blipday. What a nice place this is...

Another special day today - it’s Archie’s seventh birthday - and doesn’t he look positively delighted to be able to wear his special hat again! Though we didn’t make a fuss, others did - Rufus and his mum left a pressie at the front door this morning, and Elizabeth popped in this afternoon with more (food related) pressies. He was spoilt. Hopefully we can celebrate his ‘Gotcha Day’ in May, out in the sunshine in the back garden, with visitors...

We went for a walk in the afternoon, but I could not pass my favourite cafe, while the others walked on through town. As I was sitting enjoying my delicious flat white, I met our neighbours - but we’ve hardly seen each other all winter. Wait till we can all spend time out in the back garden again in the sun.

Saw a good headline - the ‘Royal Duels’. The Queen, apparently, won’t watch the Oprah interview tonight, but will be briefed about it at breakfast. The aids will have to be careful and time the bad news well - we don’t want Her Maj to choke on her cornflakes.

An exciting delivery tomorrow. A new bed - it’s been on order for three months!
