Coastal moor
Some 20 km south from where I live is Mörbylånga, a really hard word to pronounce for english speaking people. "the ending, "långa" is of course the same word and pronunciation, as 'long', the a, at the end is like the 'a' in Ha! The "Mör" is the same word as 'moor' in english but pronounced like 'mur' in murder. The last bit "by", means village or place, the y is pronounced like the 'y' in 'Lybia'. Mör by lång a (language course for free) -The place by the moor. Some of the rocks in the low water are actually swans feeding from the bottom.
I was there to visit Mr.T, who has moved to a home for the elderly today, after a week in hospital. He couldn't handle daily life in his unpractical house anymore, so we helped him to the hospital, where the decision was made. Hopefully he can relax and enjoy being taken care of for a while, the home seems to be a good one and he likes it there.
After the visit I took a stroll along the beach and harbour area, the main gives quite a good image of the name of the place. The extra is from the pier at the inlet to the small harbour, built to serve the needs of the stone industry. It's quite a coarse construction, there was no need for refinement.
