today kept getting better

The weekly supermarket shop threw me into a bit of a tizzy this morning - too many people getting too close and a 20 minute queue at the checkout. I considered abandoning the trolley and leaving the shop but instead i just focussed on staying calm and messaged Sarah, who was in a bike shop in Tooting. The screw which holds her bike saddle to the seat post had broken off when she was on her way to work yesterday and she had had to walk home. She ordered a new screw online and was there to pick it up but the man said she should return to the scene and look for a missing washer! I'm sure she would have rather been doing something else (like sleeping) as she is on a night shift tonight. When I eventually unloaded my shopping into the car, she was at Lidl and said that it was also crowded, with whole families shopping together. It's very frustrating. I am definitely  going to avoid going into town again for as long as possible.

When I got home, there was a big cardboard box in the hall, and inside it I found these beautiful perfumed purple stocks...from Sarah. They cheered me up no end.

It was also lovely to get a phone call from Luke, telling me all his news.

I managed a to get a walk inbetween showers, and resolved an annoying eBay dispute in my favour. And to top it all, D is making the tea :-)

Today's walk: to the ford and back 3.1 miles
