The view from the smallest room in the house .
A funny old day , breakfast with Jess and LBB which was a lovely way to start the day and got me outside earlier than usual .
A trip into town , less lovely , to do some banking jobs and then a walk in the park .
My dad had been very much on my mind as he fell in the night and it seems that he is anaemic which would explain why he has been incredibly tired and breathless recently . I shall talk to him tomorrow and my sister is visiting him at this very moment as I write .
The prayer below has flitted in and out of my mind today , written by Reinhold Niebuhr, it was on the mantle piece in the kitchen of the family home where I grew up and I have a copy by my bed . It’s been around for as long as I can remember.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
and Wisdom to know the difference.
We can change a lot more than we think but I realise that acceptance of what we can’t is important too.
Thank you for your interest and encouraging comments yesterday , they were really appreciated. Xx
