What Happens When You Press The Launch Button?

My daughter and I drove in convoy in our S2000s to Smith's seafood stall to get some fishy delights and cocktails she had ordered for us for Mothering Sunday. (Extras) We loved being on the road together.

As we were about to leave Steve drove up in what I think might be a Ferrari 488 Spider. We hung about while he was getting a lobster thermidor for his mum and then my daughter asked him what happens when the launch button is pressed. He said you have to hold on tight but that he has never pressed it as he hasn't read the manual. He bought the 2018 model last year and this was its first outing of 2021. He didn't seem to mind being quizzed by us and says that he intends to track the car at some point.
