Sunday Funday - Taking Down the Trees

We were up early, gathered two grandsons, bought donuts and drove to my mother’s to meet my sister and brother-in-law. Our mother is a very independent 92 year old so we are careful to let her ask for help rather than suggest she needs it. She did and the work crew headed south. My daughter and her family brought 10 dinners for lunch and pitched in so the tasks went quicker. The Christmas decorations were put away, the dying tree was cut down and loaded on trucks, the pantry was rearranged, furniture was moved, the porch was cleaned, floors were vacuumed, lunch was served and the kitchen was cleaned. There were also sub tasks so all told, we worked for six hours. The four kids worked as hard as the adults and were thanked with rolls of coins and Momma’s famous pound cake. Couch time! Never miss an opportunity to teach children to use their skills by helping others. Our world will be a better place. Happy Sunday, folks. Thanks for the visit.
