A rather nice day in the end. A damp start followed by still, soft pleasantness. I worked in the polytunnel, hoed, planted a few more lettuce leaves, re potted some sunflowers. Then I did a bit of clearing on the teeny island in the pond - yes more ivy! I was just thinking about a cuppa when Himself arrived having fallen in the stream, which was deeper - and smellier - than he thought. Assistance was required getting his wellie off!
Then I went round the circuit minor to see if there were any birds for mono monday - just the tail end of a heron as it sped off at full tilt. The sky was pretty impressive though, one fishing boat making its way home.
And other news. An arctic walrus has literally rocked up on the Kerry coast. The scientific explanation was that it had fallen asleep on an iceberg and woken up on Valentia Island. Easily done. But how will it get home? More things to worry about.
