Helping Hands
PD and I went out at about 9:30 this morning to clear the sidewalk. Darrin was coming in about an hour but we thought we could do that much. We hadn't been out there 5 minutes when 3 of our young, strong neighbors showed up with shovels and started working on the driveway. When the shoveling was done, one of them got his jeep and drove back and forth over the snow in the street in front of the house to pack it down so we can easily get the car out on the road. I am very grateful to have such wonderful neighbors!
It wasn't too long before Becky and Darrin and the dogs arrived. Piper was so excited to have company in her snowy backyard and the three of them had a great time chasing each other through the snow. Becky brought us stuffed peppers and home made soup that they had left over from the weekend. Darrin and PD worked on the deck while Becky and I visited. Darrin took the extra shot of Piper's protest. She is lying next to the measuring stick which showed 15 inches (38 cm). There was a lot of drifting where it was much deeper.
So, thanks to Darrin and our wonderful neighbors, hundreds of pounds of snow have been moved. I think it will take quite a while for the big piles to melt. And, thanks to Becky, I don't have to cook tonight! Tomorrow I'll be busy making cookies for everyone. :-))
