Floating Rock

Well, that's what I thought it was.  I was too far away to see that it was alive and besides, several geese treated it that way and just swam around it.  When it finally did move it went straight down and surfaced even farther away.  My bird ID book says it's a Pied-billed Grebe, but I'm not sure.  I thought it was a baby something-or-other.  The white tail-feathers and the ring around its bill fit the grebe description.  One of these days I'm going to have to find the bird/duck expert that my BlipBuddy Mary Jo and I spent an afternoon with.  I doubt there's a duck in existence that he couldn't identify.
