A warm, quiet and mostly sunny St Patrick’s Day . Gearoid’s daffodils are coming into their own and get better every year ( he didn’t get those from a super market). No parades but I did see 2 vintage tractors taking the farmers kids around a field, lots of happy squealing and my neighbours girls did a little Irish dancing to some unseen flute player the other side of the hedge. Otherwise lots of quiet gardening going on for the once in a decade decent bank holiday weather. My overriding memories of the parades here are of freezing sleety winds in West Cork , St Patrick having bin bags on to keep dry or once in Bantry the poor patron saint was put on a boat up on a trailer , his umbrella was inside out ( what was he thinking ) and he had a heck of time just trying to stay upright against the fierce whooly blowing from the Atlantic! We all ran for cover into the Bantry Bay Hotel for hot chocolates and mulled wine, we were shivering and blue lipped once it was over . Happy days !
Sunny eve ride out - all good . It’ll be grand next year so it will x
