The geese are back.

The geese have been hanging around in a field above the pond on and off for a few weeks now.  This is the first time I have seen them back on the pond since last year.  Just after I took this there was a racket as they started honking very loudly.  I turned back to look and saw that one of the swans had approached and was obviously not welcome!  The swan wasn’t bothered though and wandered around pushing the geese into a corner.  It then nonchalantly got back into the water and swam off.  A few ruffled feathers but that was all.  There were quite a few altercations with the swans the last time the geese were nesting here, so time will tell who will gain the upper hand this year.  Could be some baby moorhens soon with any luck.  Not a great shot in extras, but this moorhen has been sitting in the nest every time I have gone past recently.
