A robin and a bullfinch

The purple heather makes a nice backdrop for one of our resident robins.

A female bullfinch flew into our lounge window this morning and knocked herself senseless.  I went straight to her to protect her from Purdy and found her on her side and quivering.  I very gently picked her up to put her somewhere safe and give her a chance to recover if possible but, while still on my hand, she seemed to wake up and she took off successfully to land in the nearby trees.  Thankfully there seemed to be no lasting damage.
