Lockdown Sunday

The downside of going to bed early due to tiredness following a days gardening is In wake up in the middle of the night, fully alert. Milk, 'Carmen' from the Met, book and eventually some pain relief for the niggly muscles.

Once up long call to J about medical stuff and a rant about the centralist and authoritarian approach of the French health system. No aim to be patient led.

I needed out so off on the X62 to Nicolson Street. Then a walk round the Old Town. There were people but no tourists. I visited the new Physic Garden at the Palace, then Dunbar's Close, the Canongate's hidden gem, up to the Castle and back by the Grassmarket and the Cowgate. I was also visiting places where my 3x gt and 2x gt grandfather's lived. Not that any of the original buildings still exist. But no tourists, many locked up pubs and shops and developments that started over a year ago and are still unfinished.

Came home on the #37 and sat in the garden in the sun (with a slightly chilly wind) for a couple of hours, dozing. More pruning of roses and honeysuckle then came in to phone D and A in Troon. They were juggling multiple phones and Facetime. There is an open invite for the summer. I may take them up on it.

Tonight is chicken baked in yoghourt and 'Line of Duty 6'.
(Edit: had to Google CHIS. And glad to hear they've stopped say 'for the tape' on cop shows since they must have stopped using tapes a while ago, surely?)
