Spice Oven

The house was built in about 1750 and this range must have been a Victorian upgrade as it doesn’t quite fit the fireplace. Its not operational, so the oven is our spice cupboard.    Bowerbanks had a foundry in Penrith in the late 1800's.

We completed the census last night. Going by the 1881 record, there were eight residents listed for this house.
