Glenfinnan

Today's stamp from 1981 features Glenfinnan in Scotland. There were two Scottish stamps in the series and only one each for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. In 1981 I would have been preparing for my 11+ which I took at the start of 1982.

I visited Scotland in primary school once, several times while an undergraduate at University, and again for and couple of interviews when I was looking for a PhD place. We only really visited one wonderful summer, when we were camping and it was warm, breezy and midge free! I don't think we've been to Glenfinnan, or at least I don't remember it!
