Olive tree

An olive tree before I pruned it. I wasn't able to complete the job as some of the branches were too high for my pole saw.
 Not only that, I was exhausted, so I  gave up. On the subject of giving up, I have an unpleasant suspicion that  giving up has become a way of life, thanks to covid. So I'm wondering what the difference is between giving up and letting go. It might be that to give up is to stop trying to acheive something, whereas to let go is stop clinging to something. Thoughts anyone? There could be some overlap.
