Appearances can be deceptive

I planned a ride this morning which goes against my logic or being a very indirect route but as I said to my ride companion, it's about the journey not the destination! It was mainly based on two roads that I wanted to do in the opposite direction to usual, then a link between them.

The sun came out this afternoon for my rendezvous with a friend for a swim, the reservoir looked beautiful, the wind a bit chilly but the sun on my face made me smile.
