Life and death on the dike

Walking on the dike is always enjoyable, but this time of year it's a real delight, like medicine for the soul. The wild cherry trees are now in bloom, the air filled with Red-wing Blackbirds melodic songs. Then there are the coyotes; in the extra, one is having duck for dinner.
