Rewilding

I could see that the very first green (flower) shoots are opening on one of the trees in the square, but across on the far side and very hard to get a shot of. So I went for these easier-to-access buds just bursting out on a wee tree on the Links - a hawthorn, probably.  Called in at East Coast Cured for a bag of flour (as you do) and they were celebrating their birthday (4th?), so gave me a celebratory tin of Embra shortbread.

Maths in the afternoon, then a Zoom thing about rewilding Lothian in the evening - but it was much interrupted by emails from various lovely Belgian friends and an actual phone call speaking with the lovely Ogatodomar! He's in the hospital, all tubed up, and sounded high as a kite on the morphine. Sounds pretty grim. But it was very good to hear his voice.
