Another of the trees on the far side of the square is opening up, and a rainy start to the day meant that the opening buds are more visible against a rain-soaked background.

I just remembered that this is the tree that traditionally opens its buds early - it has been terribly bothered by ivy growth in the past and likes to get a head start.

Another day of maths and chores - did manage to fit in a bit of singing, though.
