Back blip

Tried to get my last blip on from Cairo yesterday, but the internet was too slow. On our last morning we had a last walk round Zamalek and handed out our last photos to people we'd blipped and photographed. One of whom was Ahmed who Bb blipped here and he kindly let me take yet another photo of him....this time smiling!

The only person we couldn't find again was Yasheen. We were disappointed as we had a little soft spot for him and wanted to pass onto him our remaining credit in the internet cafe and give him a box of chocolates. Oh well, not to be we thought, and went back to the hotel to do the packing. Then, all packed up in the taxi and driving along the street we spotted him. 'Stop' we shouted to the driver, as we scrambled out of the car and ran through the traffic. With gestures we managed to convey to him that we'd left his pics, a box of chocolates and some 'time' in the internet cafe across from the hotel. Happy, back in the taxi again, to face a 2hrs 30 minutes drive to the airport and just got there by the skin of our teeth for our flight. The drive normally takes an hour, but thankfully the British Council always err on the side of caution with the car pick up! Both flights were fine (via Rome to Bcn) and then a long wait for our luggage in Bcn (some kind of strike we think) meant arriving back home, hungry and too late even for our local Frankfurter at 1 am!
