Better the Devil You Know!

Quite a relaxing day when we haven't ventured too far. Today's an official public holiday for Carnival here and so all shops are closed, except those that sell food. We met the British couple at breakfast this morning, Nigel and Ann who I started up conversation with at a local restaurant last Sunday when Bb was in São Paulo. We're meeting them for dinner tonight, so we went on a wee scout to see which of our local favourite restaurants are open tonight. After breakfast we both worked for a few hours, catching up on emails etc, then out and about to soak up the street carnival atmosphere. Copacabana at the front is cut off to traffic today and so it feels like a Sunday, except much busier, everyone wearing carnival gear, and with lots of music and swaying hips around! Here's my very own carnival devil, complete with flashing horns. These are shorts he's wearing by the way, not trousers.
