The Very Big Thing
I said last week that she did a Thing. A Very Big Thing. When she got her offer of the early entry place in the new school, it messed up plans that she and her current bassoon teacher had for the summer term. So at the start of February, they had a rethink and decided to just crack on ahead of schedule. With a lot of hard work and In less than 2 months, and with a total of 2 years learning of the bassoon, they prepared for her Grade 8 bassoon exam. They only had one outcome in mind. And we heard today that she got it. Distinction for Grade 8.
So after practice tonight, there was celebratory hot chocolate and cream cake. Happy girl.
Shes had a slightly clingy kind of day prior to the exciting news. She's completely delighted to be heading to school - she's wandered round in her House hoody all day - but she was feeling a bit sad about leaving her friends from home. But the excited kept winning and her smile keeps breaking. Just with extra cuddles and a huge monkey in tow for most of the day.
