Each to their own
Since my Mum moved house in November, she’s been hell bent on ruining renovating the garden.
It takes a lot for me to be at a loss for words, but her sending me the ‘after’ photo today has done it.
Someone’s time, care and attention, creating a great outdoor space...gone!
All those lovely plants, adding interest and colour, providing food for the bees....gone!
In their place, slate and chippings.
She’s asked our opinion multiple times (and hasn’t liked the answer!), if it’s what she wants then fine but what a waste.
We’ve (well, Mr A) has spent the last 8 years transforming our garden from a barren patch of grass to the gorgeous, bee friendly space we have now.
I’m not even sure if she’s noticed that I’ve not commented on any of the photos she’s sent me. As much as she likes it, I can’t lie; it’s bloody awful!!
Before all of this, she complained that the neighbourhood cats kept crapping everywhere. Now she’s provided them with a giant litter tray, so I don’t see that getting any better.
There was a glimmer of hope, when she said she was going to buy some large pots and put big plants in. It was all going so well until she added that said plants would be artificial.
Each to their own :-/
