Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Hello Hellebore

A bit wild today! This would have been our first Sunday back in church but we had to miss out. Palm Sunday already, extraordinary how time passes.
It's been too wild to do much outside, not as wild as the forecast suggested it would be but still not very pleasant. I popped out into the garden to find a blip for today and decided that this hellebore had to be it. I got it around 4 or 5 years ago from Binny Plants in West Lothian who specialise in hellebore and peonies amongst other things. Two years ago I thought I'd lost it after somebody trod on it. I decided not to try to move it though and left it alone with a cage over it to protect it. Nothing happened with it last year, but this year my patience has been rewarded. I can't remember what it is called, but it is a lovely rich blood red colour with yellow stamens. Hopefully it will be even better next year.
Other than that our big excitement for the day was a drive to the church hall to change the time clock on the heating, but somebody had got there before us!
Keep safe and well folks, over 50% of Scots have now had their first vaccine.
