4 way family favourites
The clocks sprang forward so I was up at 7 (6) for another birthday party. This time #1 son who is, 39. The family gathered together were in London, Pingtung, Taiwan, KL and of course me in Edinburgh..#2 son was out for lunch in KL and #3, probably still asleep. One of Katherine's spectacular cakes was the centrepiece. And of course there were presents. It would have been good if both parents could have been there, but that never happens. After an hour or so the birthday boy went off to catch up with the rugby and I went for a 'traditional Scottish breakfast.
I then mended the hose. The weld seems to have worked, fingers crossed. Then to the garden to scrape off more moss and clean out more mud and house the while thing down. I'm going to take bicarb and vinegar to it next week. I also cut back a honeysuckle and a clematis amandii. I think at one point I got the stems of the two confused as they entwined through the clematis montana so some injudicious chopping back occurred. I'm going to chop back the Montana later this year after its flowered and tidy it up. An extra is of the new season forced rhubarb.
.
Then next door to Y's back garden for tea and s catch up. What a treat, a back garden, until the rain came on.
My back was protesting having been scrunched up in a chair all week and then pushed into service yesterday and today. Another hot bath was the solution while the rain battered the Velux. Not very springlike out there.
Looking out the bedroom window I realised I could see the top of THAT hotel glinting in the late sun.
