New Addition

A long Blip but super excited.
Do you believe in Karma, I do.

We lost our dog of sixteen years, Gussie, on September 10 last year and I can honestly say the house has been different.
We started looking for a new dog after Christmas, rescue dogs only, we applied to different organisations, filling out the forms as requested, but in every case we heard nothing.  All a bit like job applications where you hardly ever get a response. But out of the blue, via a friend of Clare’s, we were put in touch with Boycies Bridge in Stafford. We went on line and read this;

“We would like you to meet the very handsome chubby cheeky Paddy

This young man is not even one year old, yet has had a really rough start in life.

He was actually rescued in Ireland by a very kind young man from this area, who was studying out in Ireland.

He had been seeing Paddy tied on a chain living outside a caravan with no shelter.

He was concerned and couldn’t bear to see him there, so lonely and thin, dirty and scared, so decided to offer money to take him. The ‘owner’ agreed and Paddy’s journey started.

After arranging his passport and travel, he sent Paddy to his Mum over here to find a rescue space.

It was then Paddy became part of the Boycie’s Bridge family.”

Boycies Bridge have been, and are, amazing, Patrick has recovered from that start in life and is a beautiful young boy. Due to Covid we couldn’t go and see Paddy but we kept in touch via pictures and videos, we then had our reference accepted and following a telephone interview we were ‘pencilled in’ for Patrick. With some restrictions being lifted tomorrow Patrick’s fosterers are due to return to work so it was agreed that under the government guidelines I would travel to collect Patrick and as this was going to be a little stressful for him my daughter Sam would accompany me. Joshua was starting his leave and travelled from Forres to meet us half way.
The car park hand over was a bit emotional, Patrick is beautiful, the journey home was ok and he’s now settled in his new home.
We will keep in touch with Boycies Bridge with ‘pupdates’ and will be forever grateful.

Patrick has arrived in Cornwall and made a change to our lives already, a family walk for the four of us after dinner tonight, first time all four of us have done that for a while.
