Walkabout Mallards

The only pics I took today were on our morning walk. These three mallard drakes were resting in the grass by the southerly block of glasshouses. When Ollie dog and I approached they didn't fly but waddled off to the field. I was upset to find a dead mallard drake at the lake water's edge. Three more drakes were on the water and there was no sign of any females. Maybe they're sitting?
