Some Relief At Last

In the absence of any meeting up with our daughter and granddaughters we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and head to Studley Royal near Ripon. We hadn’t been able to pre-book entry tickets for the gardens (they sell out like hot cakes when they are released on Fridays) so we parked in the car park and walked into Ripon and back - a total of just over 8 miles. We stopped for coffee and a panino (one between us) in the market square in town. We then called in at the Studley Royal tearoom for tea and a cake (takeaway) when we got back :-)

Main blip is of one the fives remaining bridges along ‘Seven Bridges Valley’! Also added a waterfall and a fabulous tree with twisty bark.

Glorious sunny day - not too hot and there were lovely paths to walk along. Perfect antidote to the grim news from our daughter… late on Monday afternoon (after I had blipped) she got messages from several friends to say that children from granddaughters class had started testing positive for  COVID…so she tested granddaughter and lo and behold she is positive too. Our daughter is absolutely fuming as she has just spent 10 days in isolation…having been exposed at hospital a couple of weeks ago..fortunately she has tested negative throughout - but now she will have been in close contact with her daughter who has brought it home from school… so we all have to cross our fingers that if (when?) it passes in it is not too serious.
