Cockles and Beards

Came to Scarborough today not just to sample the brisk sea air, nor the tasty delights of the sea. Today had a greater purpose...Yorkshire Beard Day!

The greatest beards gathered from far and wide [at least as far as Sheffield] to do battle in the beard competition, whilst enjoying beer brewed especially for the event, and listening to bands where the requirement was 'if you have a beard, you can play'!

Hayden entered the 'verdi' competition which he won - out of two people thats still a victory, and we celebrated through the night listening to a bearded punk beat poet, a ukulele band and a pretty good blues band.

Possibly one of the weirdest days out in a long time but a lot of fun...especially if you like beards...which I do! Happy days!
