Lovely to be back in St Ives

It's so lovely to be back in St Ives. As soon as we arrived yesterday afternoon we went to visit Ann's friend Heather so she could have a glass of wine down to the beach so that I could have a play. This morning I had a walk on all of the St Ives beaches. There's four. Yay! And then this afternoon I went back to Porthmeor Beach so that I could play with my ball. We thought that doggies would be banned from the beaches by now, because normally the beach ban starts the Sunday before Easter, but it seems that the doggie beach ban isn't starting until mid May. Yay! Ann has promised to take me to the beach at least once a day. Yay! The only problem with that plan is the amount of sand that I bring back into the house with me. Oh well, ho hum, that's what hoovers are for??!!

…...............But just look what had happened by this afternoon.......................... the mist had come rolling in. It was still warm though. We spent most of the afternoon just chillaxing on our sun terrace. Ann's got a few jobs to do; mainly painting the outdoor walls/decking and re-potting the pots but today she said it was going to be a day of rest and relaxation.

However, I got left home alone while she went to do a supermarket shop. Apparently I've still got to practise staying home alone because she doesn't want me to become too needy. Having said that, Ann's organised herself a load of social activities but because she'll be meeting people outdoors, she's said that I can go with her; as long as I don't do any of my silly 'jumping up'!!!

Oh and aren't supermarkets in England fabulous? 25% off wine in Tesco if you buy 6 bottles or more. My human never buys anything less. In Scotland there's minimum unit pricing on all alcohol so it's all a load more expensive. And also you can only buy alcohol between the hours of 10am – 10pm which means that you can't buy an M&S dine in for 2 meal or have an online delivery outwith those times. It's mad! Let's face it.................. if you're an alcoholic and want to drink first thing in the morning, you'll find a way to do it. The homeless people/tramps who hang out in the sunny spot next to our local Cafe Nero in Edinburgh always seem to manage to have loads of cans of lager/cider at 8am?!

Oh and just one more teeny, weeny little rant.............................. We're sure the whole world knows that the G7 summit is going to be held in St Ives/Carbis Bay in June but it's just been on the news that the local secondary school is going to be closed during this time due to, 'the unpredictable nature of the event'. Mmmmmmmmmm.................... we won't be here then, but our house is booked out to holiday makers. Guess we'd better contact them to check that they know that they'll be in the middle of a very high security area. Can't imagine how anyone is even going to manage to get to Tesco which is right between the two hotels that are housing the world leaders???????? Is that also going to be closed due to the 'unpredictable nature of the event'???

Enough rantings. Suffice to say we're very happy to be back in St Ives.
