LOCK DOWN – DAY 8

I'm 16 months old and I'm finding this whole lock down thing a bit strange. I keep getting trekked around the streets on my lead because the parks & open spaces are full of joggers and dogs (that we've never seen in our life before) and people out walking (who have probably never, ever exercised before in their lives). It's crazy!!

Oh and what's all this about Boris sending out a letter to the great British public at a cost of £5million? FFS? Why can't he just email us all and give the £5millon to the NHS.

Anyway because I'm only 16 months old and more probably because I'm a dog; I haven't actually got this 'social distancing' thing worked out yet??? Today on my trek around we passed Ann's friend's house so she texted her to come to the window for a chat.

The minute the window was opened I pulled on my lead and tried to jump in. Lol!

My human is feeling a lot happier now that she's resigned to the fact that this situation isn't going to go away any time soon. Today she managed half an hour out on the balcony just reading a magazine before it clouded over. That certainly is one of the simple pleasures in life and we are so lucky to have our own little outdoor sun trap space.

However, Ann is now feeling the need to volunteer and 'help the nation'. But what to do? That is the problem? She's already said she'll do shopping or pick up prescriptions for people in her block of flats, but no one seems to need/want her services. Not sure if any of the local supermarkets are still recruiting? Maybe she should check their websites because even working for a few hours a day might 'help the nation' and would certainly ensure continuity of my home alone time.

Oh well, ho hum, things are changing so quickly who knows how any of us are going to feel tomorrow. Having said that; how fabulous is BLIP for creating social history? I think we should all be tagging our posts 'thistimenextyear' …...........Because this time next year, things are going to be very, very, different from this time today?!!
