Out in the sunshine
It's been wonderful to spend much of today outdoors.
In the morning I went in search of two pieces of sculpture that I needed to document for the ArtUK project. Both were in the grounds of University halls of residence. Those grounds are still largely deserted, so I had plenty of peace and quiet to explore and also to enjoy the expanses of spring flowers.
One of the works is 'Ingots' by Mark Firth, pictured in the extra here.
Then in the afternoon I dropped in to see Jack, and to pick up some camera kit I'd lent him. With Frieda at nursery today, we took advantage of a gap between his Zoom meetings for a good catch-up together.
Then I finished the afternoon with more catching up in the garden: giving the grass it's first mow of the year, planting out a couple of Honesty seedlings and a primrose.
As I look out at the damson blossom that looks like tiny stars along the branches of the small tree I've trained against a sunny wall, I'm wondering how it will fare in the frosty temperatures that are forecast for early next week.... Might need to improvise a damson duvet :-)
