A window to the world
We have been in this side room on the Acute Unit in Christie’s since this time yesterday, sadly hub isn’t going anywhere soon, other than being moved to Ward 11 which is where he was for 3 weeks pre Christmas... so he wasn’t happy about it as he had a traumatic time then but we are being put into their side room, not on the main ward, otherwise I could not stay with him.
He’s on all kinds of medication..... a few
Hallucinations which isn’t nice for him. Last night he was convinced there was a man with a camera outside his window......as you can see from the view of Manchester’s skyline tonight, thats highly unlikely, but he was convinced of it!
Extra is my put up bed, not very comfy but at least its a bed rather than a chair.
Middle son came to see his Dad this morning, was supposed to be daughter too, but info given to me by duty manager last night that they could both come in differed from day duty manager today, only one person allowed in plus myself, so poor daughter was left outside in bit’s :-(
After much wrangling and discussion and cos of what happened this morning they have agreed daughter & youngest cud come tomorrow but that would be it..... leaving hubs sis astray as she wanted to come to see him as she’s not seen him since Sept! Anyhow, youngest, who saw hub at weekend thru the window has said that he wanted to back off so hubs sis can come from Soton early in the morning, so she is coming with daughter late morning. What a palaver! They have made it clear there won’t be anymore visitors allowed after tomorrow though..... which is going to be tough if we have to remain here and the worst happens :-(( Have to make the best of FaceTime as and when hub feels able....... but there is still a 24hr window of opportunity that if he did start to respond to all the Antibiotics and improve considerably, then there might be an option to get him home, but it would have to be a big improvement as he’s on 10ltrs Oxygen way above anything that could be provided at home..... so hoping and praying for a miracle really :-(
Hoping for a settled night but you just never know......managed 4 hrs last night :-/
Things are pretty grim really but at least he’s comfortable at the moment and sleeping :-)
Take care out there.......and it’s just as well my walking challenge ended yesterday, have done the grand total of 500 today!
I will be leaving my fundraising page open for a day or two yet, but wanted to say a massive thank you to all you marvellous Blipper’s for your support and generosity <3
