Under The Nets
Our evening walk takes us past the Rippon Vineyard and as it is getting to "grapes on" time, then it is also "nets on" time too. This year the vineyard has mixed the usual white netting covers with black ones and I have to bark that the visual effect is missing with the black. I also wonder how this works from a birds perspective. Can they see the black I wonder, or do they just crash into it?
The Boss is thinking of starting a "Photographers for white netting" movement and wonders if he will attract any support from Birds. (note the capital there) An unnamed Blipper (She does not live in Wanaka) has often spoken of nights under these vines so I wonder if she was doing bird research at the time. I seem to recall the saying "A bird in the vines is better than one in the bush..NO... that's not it. Well anyway you get the idea...OK?
The white netting seems to be older and in need of repair but The Boss did find the odd hole that the repair folk had not yet dealt with to pop his camera through to produce tonight's image.
As you can see it didn't completely fit.
