Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Not so smalls!

I was digging through a cupboard yesterday and came across these, as one does! They had yellowed with age and had some rust stains and generally looked rather sad! So, I boiled the bloomers - which come with handy button down flap to allow you to sit on the water closet - and hand washed the petticoat which has an additional rear area too, I think it may be for a bustle, but it may just be for a train, not the railway type! They've both come up beautifully, I don't think they'll be acceptable to next weekend's bride though, they're too big anyway, they have a 24" waist. Not your usual garden bloom (ers)!
I don't even have the excuse that I live in our old family house and have inherited these unknowingly, I have to accept full responsibility for choosing to give them house room, lol!
What a lovely day today, I spent about 6 hours in the garden. My major achievement was brushing down and clearing the driveway. It's looking great now.
Good Friday today and strange not to be in church, still I should be there on Sunday.
I decided to take my car for a run this evening as it's been in the driveway for a few weeks now. I drove out to the Forth Bridge and back. The sunset was phenomenal, a huge fiery ball of a sun setting below the horizon. Of course I was driving so couldn't take a photograph. Still, a good red sky tonight so hopefully tomorrow will be a good day too.
Keep safe everybody, we can go out and about more now, but we need to use our judgment as to whether we should.

National Galleries Art Quiz link is in the comments. I got 8/10 today
