2 pence an hour to keep all those TVs and other standard stuff that never gets switched off going. Although when the fridge kicks in it shoots up to 4 pence an hour!

Not that I'm a bit excited with this gadget, however...

Boil kettle 65 pence per hour,
Oven on max 50 pence per hour,
Hob on max 43 pence per hour,
Microwave 30 pence per hour,
Washing machine 12 pence per hour,
Dryer 58 pence per hour.

Best of all, it was free. Part of nationwide roll-out.
