In the Orchards
Another cool, but sunny day, so I got more gardening done. I only gave up when several neighbours appeared in their gardens and carports with Kärcher pressure washers or industrial size hoovers for a noisy symphony of spring cleaning.
At lunchtime, P and I went for a walk. Even though the 'proper' cherry blossom is still not quite there, the Frauenstein cherry orchards close to the city are a very popular area for walkers, joggers and bikers at this time of year, and we wanted (and managed) to avoid the crowds.
And it was beautiful out there. All the wild cherry trees are in blossom now, as well as the sloe and hawthorn hedges.
But I worry a little. Just around the corner from where I blipped the bumble bee in the blossom, a farmer was spraying his cherry plantation with some chemical stuff that got blown all over the place by the wind (see extra).
I hope it won't affect the wild bees...
